From Sept 13 to 29 Bertie accompanied Mr & Mrs Booth on a business trip to Brisbane and Rockhampton. See "240929 trip to Qland" button below.

8 December to his mother: "I've had quite a good time lately" - a theatre showing film "The Ten Commandments", a fete, meals with friends, tennis, a boat trip to Bay View to stay with friends, swim in the rain, impromptu dance....
on 15 December his letter to his mother tells her that Mrs Bennett has asked him to find new lodgings "as she found the work too much". Bertie sanguine that "something will turn up".
