Bertie travelled in the sidecar of Geoff Cadden's Harley, their friends Roberts, Russell and McKenney in "an old Straker Squire".
They camped next to the Fish river at over 3,000 ft, fished for trout and shot rabbits which were cooked in a stew in an old petrol can!

Photos of camping in Blue Mountains
Photos taken by AHT Broderick on 2 camping trips in the Blue Mountains, at Easter and later in April 1926. Inscribed with captions in pencil on the back, he also adds "These are not good prints but they're all I have at the moment,"
The first trip is described in the letter to his Mother dated 6 April 1926. The letters don't mention the second trip.
